The Start to a New Year

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7

I have absolutely fell in love with this verse this past year.  I learned every aspect of the word “peace” through the Bible study “Life Is” by Judah Smith and now “anxious” is another word I’m digging in deep to overcome it.  With that being said, it’s that time of year again!  You know this time every year it’s coming, but it still can bring anxiety and anxiousness of a new crazy year.  I was told early in S’s career to “expect the unexpected.”  You think 7 years of this I would have mastered this concept.  Growing up, if you asked my friends to describe my personality they would probably tell you, “Hillary remembers everything, tells it like it is and very laid back.  However, as I have gotten older, I learned that I can definitely go from Type B to Type A real quick.  My goal is to make every situation through the next 7 months as stressless and smooth as possible.  Packing starts the transition from offseason to spring training and making sure everything at home is taken care of before the road trip down to Florida.  I will probably wait until the last minute to start the packing process this year!  The goal is to pack light as possible which is definitely possible in Florida since the wardrobe consist of shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, bathing suits and flip flops.  The beach is calling my name!

We are excited to see what God has in store for us this season.  There will always be ups and downs but knowing God’s grace and peace is enough for me to get through it all!  Jeremiah 29:11 is a verse that gives me hope for every circumstance that I face through this thing we call “life.”  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

I will be writing and keeping everyone posted as the year progresses!  2016 will be a year to remember I just know it!

Thanks for reading,

XOXO,

HC
