I thought I was going to have big news to share with you today, but it turns out it will have to wait! On my run yesterday, I started to think about all the places God has taken me. Around this time last year, I was getting ready to pick S up from the Jackson airport. He was coming home from 6 weeks of playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic. I was able to visit for 2 weeks in November, and it was absolutely gorgeous.
While in the Dominican, the team S played for put us up in a resort, and we were beach side. When you go to the beach you tend to get local people asking if you want to buy certain items such as necklace, bracelet, sunglasses, etc… or get a pedicure. S and I would just politely say no thank you and go about our business of sun bathing and listening to the waves crash. One particular day we decided to walk the beach, and we came across this man selling authentic canvas paintings. These paintings were so authentic that they were painted on a camouflage canvas. S and I decided to work a deal with this man and buy a painting that we could put up in our house one day. We told each other we would have a house by the end of 2015 and would work hard to get it.

The beach at our resort in the Dominican Republic.
Yesterday, I went to pick up that same canvas painting that we got framed to put into our house that will be done by the end of this month (we bought the painting that is in the title of this post). When I look at this painting its more than just a pretty picture, but it reminds me of where I’ve been and how hard we have worked to get where we are. No, it was not easy. We have gone through many ups and downs but remaining faithful and trusting in God is what has kept us from pushing through it! “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
These are just a few of the pictures of our soon to be home!
Do you have something you like to look at that reminds you of where you’ve been?
Thanks for reading,
XOXO,
